Need to start that spring cleaning? We’ve got tips to help you get the most out of your spring cleaning with our handy checklist. Tackle each room in your home – from the bedrooms, to the bathrooms, and even the kitchen and living room.

Every Room:

  • Wash Baseboards, Window Sills, Doors, and Walls
  • Vacuum and wash the vents
  • Wash window treatments (drapes, curtains, etc)
  • Dust blinds
  • Wash Windows (Both Inside and Outside)
  • Dust and Shine Overhead Lights (Replace Burnt Out Light Bulbs)
  • Dust and/or Vacuum light fixtures and lamp shades


  • Clean out the pantry
  • Wash kitchen cabinets
  • Deep clean fridge inside, and was the outside
  • Vacuum the Refrigerator coils
  • Move Refrigerator and Vacuum and/or mop behind it
  • Deep clean the oven

Living Room:

  • Dust and wash any and all mirrors including frames, and decorative items
  • Vacuum upholstery (Need a deeper clean? Click here)
  • Vacuum lamp shades
  • Dust furniture and fixtures
  • Wash all throw pillows and blankets (steam preferred)
  • Dust and polish furniture
  • Vacuum and clean carpets (Need a carpet cleaning? Click here)


  • Wash all sheets and blankets
  • Wash all bed and throw pillows
  • Flip the mattress as necessary, or if pillow top, rotate
  • Purge anything stored under the bed that you no longer need or use


  • Change batteries in Smoke/Carbon Monoxide detectors
  • Check all electronics, make sure no cords are tangled, and everything is properly plugged in and into a surge protector
  • Check expiration date on fire extinguisher
  • Sweep front and back porch and/or deck
  • Store away all winter items such as clothes and decorations
  • Disinfect all computer keyboards and mouse – Use compressed air to remove crumps, dust, and other small items. Use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe down keys, finishing with a dry microfiber to remove any leftover moister


  • Clean and disinfect tub and shower
  • Wash bathmats
  • Dust and replace decorative items
  • Wash and/or replace shower liners and shower curtains


  • Discard old, expired, and no longer used makeup. Clean makeup containers
  • Update all your household first aid kits.
  • Discard of any expired medications
  • Dry clean any necessary winter clothing or items. Store away for next year
  • Donate any unused clothing to Goodwill, Salvation Army, or another local community organizations.
